In my family we love a good last minute trip to Disney! I mean wake up Monday and decide we will be going down for the weekend by Tuesday. While this is part of why we love having annual passes, it does mean we miss out on staying on property most of the time because last minute bookings can mean limited rooms especially on a holiday weekend. Thankfully though we have a handful of old faithful places we stay and are willing to try somewhere new because the hotel tends to just be a place to sleep at night.
This last trip though we had to go somewhere completely different for us as everywhere was booked. We ended up staying at a place called Magic Moment Resort and Kids Club. I had seen this hotel while booking a few months ago and it seemed to have pretty solid reviews and still did this time as well. I decided I would take the chance and we would give this new place a chance to see what we thought. I have to say that I was beyond pleased with this place and it will definitely be added to our list of places we regularly stay while in Orlando for last minute visits!
When we arrived, the check in was smooth and they even gave my daughter a welcome candy while providing us with a map of the location, and let me just say this place is built for your children. The inner portion of the hotel has a giant playground area with swingsets, slides, a playground, playhouse, and so much more near the fenced in pool. There is even a bounce house for the kids to play in! All of this was so amazing for our daughter the first day, our other days it rained, she hardly wanted to go to the room to sleep from playing.
The room we had was also beyond clean! I have stayed at so many properties and have been afraid to let my stuff touch the floor, but that was not the case here. You could tell the room was newly remodeled and the hotel took pride in the upkeep of their rooms. It had all new appliances throughout the room along with non carpeted flooring which is one of my favorite things to see in a hotel room. It was a little odd that they had giant vinyl wrappings on the wall of a treasure chest and a girl dressed as a pirate, but I can write those things off as quirky when cleanliness is the most important.
Magic Moment Resort also provided breakfast in the morning which is typically hit or miss with these locations around the surrounding theme park areas, but I still try to choose these areas for my daughter and husband to eat before we head out for the day. Since I am celiac, more often than not I just have my coffee and try to eat fruit if they have any but we also travel with tons of food safe for me to eat for this very reason too. Well this hotel had actual Mickey waffles which was a done deal for my two they could have eaten a whole tray of those a morning each! There were all kinds of toppings for their Mickey waffles as well like sprinkles and marshmallows. I personally like though that this was the first place that had markings stating their sausage links and other items that actually were gluten free which made a big difference for me. I was very surprised by the large variety of food that they offered each morning and how clean the breakfast and dining areas were kept as well.
Overall, I believe that there were some quirky things about the Magic Moment Resort like their signage that hung around the outside of the buildings but honestly none of that would keep me from returning. I had a wonderful stay and was extremely impressed with all of the staff I encountered and by the overall cleanliness of the location. This will be one of my top off property recommendations for your family travels due to the reasons I listed above and because my daughter has already asked to go back and stay!
